February 2012 Newsletter

Dear Friends;

You are invited to Yoga Path for a ribbon cutting ceremony in celebration of our grand opening!  The main event will take place on February 6th, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. with all of our staff members. Refreshments will be served afterward so that we can have a chance to know each other better.   This event will kick off an incredible  ‘Stress Reduction Week At Yoga Path’.  Each day of the week one of our gifted teachers will lead an inspiring class focused on helping relieve some of the stress in our lives.  These classes will be suitable for all levels of students from beginners to established practitioners.  Please join us for the fun:

Monday February 6th at 5:30 p.m.  Celebration Yoga and Kirtan – Julia

We will flow through a refreshing yoga practice and finish off with some uplifting call and response chanting known in Yogic Circles as Kirtan.  While quiet meditation does not seem easy for many people, the practice of Kirtan can carry us effortlessly to a place of stillness.  It has been shown to reduce stress and increase activity in areas of the brain that are central to memory.

Tuesday February 7th at 6:00 p.m. Yoga by Candlelight – Kimberly

The soft glow of candlelight has a calming effect on the mind that enhances our performance.   We will flow gently this evening building our energy while calming our nerves.  Then we will gather around the candlelight for a guided meditation releasing any residual stress.  This practice is intended to remind us of our ability to bring light into the world

Wednesday February 8th at 7:30 p.m. Music and Movement – Kelly

Come and get on the mat, and maybe even off the mat, and let the music guide your movement. This will be a loosely structured class that will use yoga moves and meditation to let it all go, have a good time and de-stress.

Thursday February 9th at 9:30 a.m. The Awakened Warrior – Sarah

It is the balanced polarity of traits associated with masculine and feminine, light and dark, yin and yang, which allowed warriors such as Joan of Arc and Martin Luther King to change the course of history.

The Awakened Warrior focuses on awakening the whole self- that which is vulnerable and compassionate, and that which is willed, prideful and defiant, and merging these traits of polarity through symbolic yoga poses, meditation, breath work, and music. It is designed to awaken and arise that spirit which has been disowned or slumbers in the self; this to the fulfillment of becoming more whole, creative, powerful, compassionate and dynamic beings capable of deep union with others.

Friday February 10th at 6:00 p.m. Imagine All the Yogis, Flow with The Tunes of The Beatles – Andrea

Bring your friends and come ready to connect with the message of love and peace. This will be an all levels flow class where we will celebrate community and groove to classic favorites. We will focus on expanding our hearts through various shoulder openers and backbends.  Beginners are welcome! “

Saturday February 11th at 1:30 p.m. Yoga for Humans – Aron

Most of us have tight muscles, stiffer joints, or are overly flexible in certain areas. Here we explore and target these areas focusing on proper alignment for strengthening.  In this class we take the time to teach principles for creating a foundation that will help in every type of future class.

Sunday February 12th at 4:00 p.m. Yoga for Core Stability:  Calm Your Nerves – Mindie

Learn how to move efficiently, when you integrate your center, and more mindfully, as you link postures with breathe. The focus, necessary, during slow and deliberate movement, will improve your stability and steadiness.  This strength is the foundation for that peaceful, easy feeling we all love so much.  This Asana flow can be energetically intense for some, but will be sequenced for all levels.  Does yoga really work to reduce stress? Experiment…come practice!!

*The price for these special classes is only $5.00 cash or check and for everyone who buys a monthly unlimited for February admission is free.

**Note that we have removed our twelve class pass and replaced it with a newly priced monthly unlimited pass for $99.00.   Also, check out our updated class schedule.

We at Yoga Path appreciate our community deeply and we work with the intention of improving the way we all interact with each other on a daily basis.  This can happen when we feel comfortable in our bodies and peaceful in our hearts.

“Change yourself and you have done your part in changing the world.”
